Description

Drugs to enhance performance have been around since the beginning of sport. The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority’s purpose is to protect the health of athletes and the integrity of Australian sport through education and testing of athletes. Join Ms Naomi Speers, Science and Results Manager at ASADA, for this topical lecture and the role pharmacists can play in keeping Australian sport fair and clean.


At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the impact of drugs in sport in Australia

  2. List the commonly abused drugs in sport in Australia

  3. Explain the rationale for athletes who use prohibited substances in sport

  4. Summarise the role pharmacists can play in creating awareness of anti-doping guidelines
